My reason to travel to Plaines Wilhems was to meet a friend of a friend at the Phoenix mall for dinner and a chat. She was so nice and gave me lots of great local information. We ate ate the Taste of Asia, where I had my first Bol Renversé. Later, I made this recipe at home too. There is a small town called Quatre Bornes also known as La Ville des Fleur. Also, the Trou Aux Cerfs Volcano is a beautiful natural spot at a dormant volcano.
Highlights
- Trou Aux Cerfs Volcano
- Quatre Bornes also known as La Ville des Fleur
- Phoenix Mall
Before you go
- This region is very small, so the natural highlights are limited. However, you are likely to pass through on the way to the western beaches
Transport
- Getting around the area, it is possible to go by taxi and have the driver wait for you at different places, or hire a car
Accommodation
- I was just passing through, so didn’t stay in this region. As usual, I recommend checking reviews on Booking.com or using AirBnB
Food
Taste Of Asia at the Phoenix Mall is a casual restaurant with some local specialties. It’s the first place I tried Bol Renversé, which is French means upside down bowl.
Domaine des Aubineaux / Les Aubineaux Restaurant was recommended to me by a local friend. It is a beautiful, old colonial house with gardens around it. However, I did not have time to try it while I was there. Something for next time!
