Here is a collection of my favourite Guyanese recipes. Luckily, in 2025 I was able to visit Guyana and try some of the traditional foods, including pepper pot. Pepper pot is a dish served mainly at Christmas, and it is full of flavour and spices. In fact, I liked it so much that I took home the special ingredient, casareep and made pepper pot for my family Christmas eve dinner. Other tasty foods included all of the snacks such as pholourie (split pea fritters), pineapple tarts, and spicy fruit salsas. I’ll keep adding to the recipes over time, and I’m hoping to find a Guyanese restaurant somewhere closer to London!
