Cartagena street art was very impressive and seemed to be around for many years. There were older paintings, newer paintings and hanging decorations like umbrellas and flags particularly around Barrio Getsemaní. Previously, that area used to be unsafe and now it’s very lively and full of tourists at the bars and cafes. Walking through the streets was fun and surprising.
In addition to Getsemaní, there was a lot of street art along the beach road. Those were mostly sculptures and, of course, the colourful Cartagena sign by the beach. Below is a selection of the Cartagena street art that I admired while walking and running around the city.
