It is located along the Mediterranean sea, offering many stunning views. Since some of the sites are spread out, you will need to do some walking. Also, don’t miss the museum to learn more about the area.

Before you go

  • Sidi Bou Said is close to Carthage, so you may want to see both on the same day trip
  • There is a lot of walking to see the different archaeological sites, so wear good shoes
  • Summer weather can be very hot so bring water, sunscreen and a hat

  • Travel by train to Carthage and Sidi Bou Said was easy and affordable. The main website is SNCFT
  • Walking around the area is safe and there are plenty of tourists

  • I did not stay in this area, as a day trip from Tunis was very easy
