This is a recipe for jammy gin and tonic, which is simple and tasty with lots of fruity flavour. In fact, my favourite cocktail is a gin and tonic, so I like the taste of the botanicals of most gins. Usually, I would just taste the gin with a neutral tonic. However, sometimes it is nice to have a change with some fruity flavours. I especially like to serve this cocktail in the summertime. For this recipe, I used a cocktail shaker, but if you don’t have one you can add the ingredients into the jam jar instead. Then just gently shake them up and strain the liquid into a glass.
Ingredients
3 Tbsp jam, flavour of your choice
50-80 ml gin, depending on your taste
Ice cubes
Squeeze of lemon juice
Cocktail shaker
Tonic water
Instructions
First, shake the gin and jam in the cocktail shaker until well-blended. You can choose the jam flavour of your choice. I like something with a lot of flavour, such as blackberry, blueberry or cherry. However, strawberry, fig, blackcurrant or most other flavours would work as well.
Next, add the ice cubes and lemon juice to the cocktail shaker, and shake again. Finally, pour the mixture into a cocktail glass and top up with tonic water. You can choose any flavour, but a plain or citrus flavour usually works best.
